An 18-year-old Brenham man about to go on trial for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, pleaded guilty at the last minute.
Pablo Marin initially pleaded not guilty to aggravated sexual assault. He accepted a plea agreement when he arrived at the courthouse for his trial on Monday.
He could have faced up to 99 years or life in prison, but instead, Marin was sentenced to ten years deferred adjudication probation. Marin must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Marin sexually assaulted the little girl in December 2005 while she was spending the night at her friend's house.
