More ratings are out from the Texas Education Agency.

The Academic Excellence Indicator System pulls a number of indicators from various categories, including TAKS scores, attendance and drop out rates, and college readiness information.

In the area, six schools received "recognized" status. Franklin, Iola, Leon, Milano, Mumford and Thorndale ISDs got that honor.

On the flip side, the Brazos School of Inquiry and Creativity, Burton ISD and Hearne ISD were each rated academically unacceptable.

This particular rating system has been used by the TEA since 1993.
