Testimony is underway in the trial of a College Station man accused of running his wife off the road with his car.

Wednesday his wife testified, not for the prosecution, but in her husband's defense.

Neal Proctor is on trial for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say Proctor rammed the car his wife and a friend were driving after getting into an argument in 2003.

Wednesday the friend testified she feared for her life.

But Proctor's wife told jurors she didn't even notice the two cars collided and never wanted to go to the police.

The defense says the incident has been exaggerated.

They're expected to rest their case on Thursday.
