The suspect who shot and killed a man two weeks ago at a gas in Riverside will not face any charges.

On Wednesday, a Walker County grand jury no-billed Merle Tennant in the death of Jerry Wayne Bratton.

Authorities believe Bratton, 40, was the aggressor in the altercation that led to his death.

On the day of the shooting, Tennant filed a complaint with the sheriff's office claiming Bratton had threatened him.

Walker County District Attorney David Weeks says the grand jury believed this was a case of self-defense.
