Saturday brings another chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Brazos Valley. During the afternoon hours, scattered areas of rain and storms could develop in the daytime heat (30%). A line of rain and thunderstorms will be possible between sunset and midnight -- moving in from the north & west. If these storms can reach the area, they could pose a localized flooding & damaging wind threat.
It may be months before Walker County decides how to move forward in the case of a TDCJ officer killed a week before his retirement.
Joshua Klawinski was arrested late Sunday night after the truck he was driving collided with four other vehicles in Huntsville. The 21-year-old from New Waverly was arrested for driving while intoxicated, as well as intoxication assault because one driver was injured.
The biggest charge for Klawinski would be intoxication manslaughter in the death of Jeffrey Pockuba, who was killed in the last of the four collisions. The corrections officer based out of the Ellis Unit was in his car when authorities say Klawinski's truck struck it head on.
The Walker County district attorney's office is awaiting blood tests to determine if Klawinski was driving drunk. If he was, he would face a second and a third degree felony charge.
