Bryan Officers Involved in Shooting Are Back at Work

Six Bryan police officers are back at work Monday after they were involved in a deadly shooting during an armed robbery attempt at the end of the year.

The six were on limited duty, since the Dec. 20 Taqueria Arandas shooting that left one person dead.

Officers fatally shot Michael Hall, who was carrying a semi automatic handgun, and hurt an accomplice, Stephen Gilbert, after they refused to comply with the officers' orders to surrender.

Although an internal investigation into the shooting continues, Chief Michael Strope returned the men to normal duty today, because of staffing issues.

A Brazos County grand jury will hear the case early next month.
