Aggie Selected as Rhodes Scholar

For the first time in more than two decades, Texas A & M can boast a Rhodes Scholar. Only two Texans were selected for the prestigious scholarship this year, one from Austin who attends Stanford, the other is 22 year old Aggie Nick Anthis. He's a Fort Worth native who will graduate in May with a Bochemistry degree. Nick learned he was a selected over the weekend.
Starting next October, Nick will begin his doctorate program in Biochemistry at Oxford University in England.
He says The Rhodes Scholarship program through Oxford seeks not only academic achievers, but also tries to identify future leaders.
Anthis is a past president of Aggie Democrats and is the current president of the A & M Honors student council.
