BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A Texas man was sentenced to seven years and three months for bringing a tractor-trailer carrying more than 113 pounds of cocaine into Kentucky.
Thirty-six-year-old Humberto Contreras-Carrasco, of El Paso, pleaded guilty in August to conspiracy, aiding and abetting and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Contreras-Carrasco and a co-defendant were arrested March 26 in Simpson County during a traffic stop Interstate 65.
The U.S. attorney's office says the cocaine seized from the vehicle had a street value of $5,175,000 and constituted the largest cocaine seizure ever made by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement.
