Aggie Dies On Highway 6

A Texas A&M student was struck and killed on Highway 6 Saturday night in a pedestrian accident.

22-year-old Luke James Patton, a senior animal science student, was a passenger in a car that was northbound between University and Briarcrest. For an unknown reason, the car drove off the highway near the median. When Patton got out of the car, he was hit by another northbound car, which was also driven by an A&M student.

Patton was killed on impact. There were no other injures and police say no charges will be filed.

Police immediately closed down the highway between University and Braircrest for about 3 hours as the accident was cleared and reconstructed.
