Easterwood Airport opens two new additions aimed at making flying the friendly skies better.

Two new jet bridges are now open at the airport. Passengers will use the bridges when boarding and exiting planes. The direct connection will keep passengers out of the elements and off the tarmac. City leaders attended a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday morning. The $1.2 million project is aimed at bringing more jet services to Easterwood. The first jet arrived at the airport at 5:30 p.m.Monday evening.

"I think it will enhance air travel out of Bryan/College Station for years to come. It's a move up to modern day loading and unloading passengers," said Harry Raisor, former Director for Eatserwood Airport.

Current Director John Happ says the addition of the bridges is one of many things being done to improve the airport.

"It gives us an advantage to give better customer services to our passengers. This is just the first step. We've got many more ideas like trying to bring the prices down and trying to get new destinations," said Happ.
