Two Brazos Valley schools are recognized through education excellence awards.
Brenham's Middle School has been nominated for the prestigious Blue Ribbon award. Only 25 other schools in the state were nominated.
Johnson Elementary in Bryan won the honor a few years ago. Johnson has also been named to the "Just for the Kids" Honor Roll this year.
The Texas Commissioner of Education, Dr. Shirley Neeley, will visit Johnson Elementary this Friday.
