Bryan Police arrested Jose Castillo Tuesday morning. The 20 year old male from Bryan was wanted on warrants for his suspected involvement in the murder of Christopher Hutchson that occurred last May 9, 2010, almost one year to the day.
Officers tried to stop Castillo for expired registration in the 1300 block of Groesbeck when he fled. Once stopped, Jose Castillo gave a false name to the officer, but was subsequently arrested.
He was charged with the following:
- An outstanding 2 count warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($200,000 bond)
- An outstanding warrant for Fail to Appear/Assault Physical Contact ($1,500 bond)
- Fail to ID Fugitive from Justice ($4,000 bond)
- Fleeing/Eluding Police Officer ($2,000)
- No Valid Driver’s License ($200)
- No Valid Insurance-Subsequent ($580)
- Display Expired Registration ($150)
- Display Expired motor Vehicle Inspection ($170)
He is currently incarcerated at the Brazos County Jail on a $208,600 bond. Castillo is the last of five suspects to be arrested in reference to this Mother’s Day Murder case and remained on the Bryan Police Department’s Top 10 Most Wanted for 9 months.
Manuel Guzman was arrested on May 12, 2010 on a 2 count warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity by the Bryan Police Department along with Joey Reyes on May 13, 2010 also on a two count warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and for Evading Arrest/Detention.
Johnathan Orta was arrested on June 22, 2010 by United States Marshalls for Murder and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. Jacob Hernandez was arrested on July 12, 2010 for two counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity by the Bryan Police Department.
