In Bryan, the police department shows crime up over the past year. The department reports a 6% overall increase in 2004.
Newly released statistics show a 40% reduction in sexual assault reports, but a 19% increase in robberies. At the same time, aggravated assault numbers rose by 23% and burglaries dropped only slightly. Auto theft showed a 23% increase over 2003. And finally, there were no murders in Bryan reported in 2004.
