After playing in the Super Bowl, local football players return home from Florida.
The Bryan Buccaneers Pee-Wee football team was greeted by cheers and smiles from loved ones as the bus pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot in Bryan.
The Lady Buccaneers also made the trip, competing at Walt Disney World.
The Buccaneers were not able to hold onto the championship, but they did claim victory by winning the top spot in the consolation bracket.
The team's head coach, Joe Menjares, says without the community helping to raise the money needed to travel to the big game, the football players and the cheerleaders would have missed out on a wonderful experience.
"Ya'll came throuh for us in four days," Menjares said. "And it's unbelievable the money that we raised and my heart goes out to you guys for helping us and helping these kids get there."
The Buccaneers finish the season with a record of 13 and 1.
Coach Menjares says it is possible that the team will now be ranked third in the nation in the Pee-Wee Division.
