Big Pizza Sales for a Big Game

Usually, a rainy day is a blessing for pizza companies. There isn't much that could make it any better for the deliverers of pepperoni pies than weather that keeps people indoors.

Except if there's a Super Bowl.

"Nothing compares to Super Bowl Sunday," said Papa John's Lenny Palmer. "We'll make upwards of 300 pizzas an hour for about three hours straight. It'll get crazy. We'll go through a lot of cheese today."

And a lot of dough, as well. On a normal Friday night, Palmer says his Rock Prairie Road location will dish out 150 pizzas an hour. To double the orders, they increase the staff.

The drivers feel the heat also. Papa John's policy is to only have a driver carry two orders at a time, meaning every run has to count.
