Christmas came a little early for a Bryan family whose son is stationed in Afghanistan.
Army Specialist Travis Stivors was greeted by family and friends Thursday at Easterwood Airport in College Station. This is the 24-year-old Bryan resident's first visit home since being stationed in Salerno, Afghanistan for the past eight months.
"My friends there, I wish they could be here and my family that's here. I've got everybody I want," Spc. Travis Stivors said. Stivors was attending Blinn College when his reserve transportation unit out of Houston was called to duty.
Stivors will miss Christmas Day with his family since he returns to Afghanistan December 23, but he will get to see his girlfriend graduate from Texas A&M on Friday.
