A local educator is recognized for her dedication to teaching and child advocacy.
Betty Suseberry Hanks was honored Sunday evening with a special reception at Pebble Creek County Club. Family and friends gathered to celebrate her 30 years of work and faithfulness to the education field.
Among some of her celebrated accomplishments was the establishment of the Big Top Daycare back in the 1980s. Hanks’ attention to the learning environment allowed the daycare to receive national accreditation.
The facility just recently closed its doors.
Hanks may be retired, but she remains active in the community by serving on a number of advisory boards.
