Two Die In Madison County Crash

Two people were killed and several others injured in a crash late Sunday on Highway 75, three miles south of Madisonville.

It happened after a car ran into the side of a flatbed truck, which was was across the road. That truck was apparently trying to make a turn off the highway when the car, loaded with four people, crashed into the truck's side. DPS Trooper Jeff Pirtle says the driver of the flatbed got lost and tried to make a U-turn but got stuck and couldn't get off the highway.

The dead have been identified as 39-year-old Jose Garza and his 36-year-old brother, Efrian Garza, both of Madisonville.

The case will be turned over to the Madison County District Attorney's office for possible charges against the driver of the truck.
