The Late Ray Charles Big Grammy Winner

The late Ray Charles was the big winner at the Grammy Awards.

His duets album "Genius Loves Company" won eight awards, including album of the year and best pop album. The track "Here We Go Again" with Norah Jones won record of the year and best pop collaboration.

Jones told the crowd she was going to cry as she accepted her award. She added that working with Charles "shows how wonderful
music can be."

Other multiple winners at the ceremony in Los Angeles include
Alicia Keys and Usher.

U2 had three awards, including best rock performance by a duo or
group.

Green Day, the most nominated rock act with six for "American Idiot," won best rock album.

There were a number of live performances, including Melissa Etheridge, who's battling breast cancer. She took to the stage for
a tribute to Janis Joplin minus her hair but with a strong voice, and got a standing ovation.
