A fire was quickly contained Thursday afternoon after construction crews hit an abandoned liquid petroleum pipeline in College Station, causing a leak.
The leak ignited, but no one was injured, officials said.
The RV park is located at 16554 south Highway 6.
There was no immediate danger and residents were not evacuated.
The southbound feeder road was shut down between William Fitch Parkway and the southbound Nantucket Exit for about an hour.
Since the line was abandoned, the pipeline was not under pressure and only contained residual petroleum distillate.
The owner of the pipeline will be using vacuum trucks to evacuate the remainder of the product from the line.
