Investigators still don't know what caused a house fire in Livingston that claimed the lives of three small children.
The home at 1019 Brock Street burst into flames just after noon Wednesday. The intensity of the blaze prevented firefigthters from reaching the children inside. Their bodies were recovered only after the fire was extinguished.
Victims included Vanessa Soto, 2, her brother Kyle Soto, 4, and their cousin Julian "Jack" Smith, 4. The mother of the Soto siblings, Lisa Marie Smith, 27, suffered severe smoke inhalation. She was treated and released from Livingston Memorial Medical Center.
A team of accelerant-detecting dogs, on loan from the Houston Fire Department, has been called in to try to determine how the fire started.
