Lance Armstrong is going for seven straight wins in
the Tour de France.
Today's announcement by his Discovery Channel team ends speculation about whether Armstrong would skip cycling's most prestigious race to focus on other events.
Last year Armstrong became the first cyclist to win the Tour de
France six times.
In a statement posted on the Web, Armstrong said he's excited
about racing, but adds that his condition is "far from perfect."
The statement also says Armstrong will begin his season with the
Paris-Nice stage race in March. He'll then race in the Tour of Flanders in early April, before defending his title at the Tour de Georgia in the U-S later that month.
