Poor aim probably prevented a car fire in College Station.
About 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, police were called to Vicksburg Street where neighbors thought they heard gunfire. Instead, authorities found a vehicle with its windows busted out. Next to the vehicle was a homemade gas bomb, or Molotov Cocktail.
After a little detective work, police concluded the perpetrator who busted the window tried to toss the bomb inside, but missed. During this time, authorities also spotted a suspicious car in the area. They talked to the driver, Thomas Herrera, Jr., then arrested him.
Herrera is charged with arson, a second-degree felony.
