President Bush is summoning Europeans to a "new era of trans-Atlantic unity".
Opening a week-long European trip, the president told an audience in Belgium that the dispute over the Iraq war was just a "passing disagreement" among friends.
And he says now's the time for the allies to come together and support Iraq's new democracy -- with "tangible" political and security aid.
The president's remarks at a former royal banqueting hall in Brussels kicked off two days of meetings with NATO and European Union leaders.
Introducing Bush, Belgium's Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt said it "makes little sense" to argue who was right on Iraq. He says the world needs a partnership between Europe and America in order to "make things turn out right."
