The Texas A&M University band and the Corps of Cadets' Ross Volunteers will represent the school in Washington next month when President George W. Bush is inaugurated for a second term.
Both will march in the inaugural parade Jan. 20, the school announced Wednesday.
The evening before, the Ross Volunteers are to perform ceremonial duties at the Texas State Society's Black Tie and Boots Ball as the Texas governor's honor guard and serve as guides and escorts within the event.
The some 300-member band and the Ross Volunteers, made up of about 140 junior and senior cadets, also participated in the president's 2000 inaugural.
The Ross Volunteers is the state's oldest honor guard and drill team, beginning in 1876. They were named in 1898 after the death Lawrence Sullivan Ross, a former Texas governor and A&M president.
