Brazos County is planning to spend thousands on the search for a new Juvenile Services Director.
Friday, the juvenile board heard from an Austin Consulting Firm that charges as much as $21,700.
The board will do some of the leg-work themselves to keep the cost down.
The firm will recruit and pre-screen applicants from across the state.
Former Executive Director Rhonda Gilchrist was fired by the board in January because of results from employee surveys.
The consultant told board members the department's past may hinder the number of applicants.
