CS School Superintendent Search is On

College Station's school board is starting off the New Year with a search for a new superintendent.

The board met with the Texas Association of School Boards to discuss possible options in their search. No action was taken by the board, but many possible routes were laid out.

The search could take on many forms. CSISD could hire their new head from within, or conduct a search themselves. Also a possibilty: hiring a consultant to search Texas or the nation for their next hire.

The board hopes to make a decision on what kind of search to conduct sometime in February. There is no timetable on when a new superintendent will be hired to replace Steve Johnson, who is retiring in November and will be leaving the area.
