Teens Get Probation After Killing Deer With Baseball Bats

By  |

Two teens accused of beating two deer to death with baseball bats have received five months deferred adjudication probation.

Call Cade pleaded no contest and Zac Owen pleaded guilty to
hunting with illegal means and methods, a class C misdemeanor, the
Odessa American reported in Saturday editions. Both are 17.

They were ordered to pay a $500 court fee. If they stay out of
trouble for five months, the cases against them will be dismissed.

They also were found guilty of hunting in closed season and paid
a $300 fine and $61 in court costs. They must receive counseling.

The names and punishment of two others involved in the incident
were withheld because they are minors.
