Play time just go a lot better for some West Bryan residents. After undergoing major renovations Henderson Park has reopened.

The park has doubled in size to 52 acres and is now the largest park in Bryan. New additions include a skate park, swimming pool, playground and basketball pavilion as well as more soccer and baseball fields.

The park is across the street from Milam elementary and students couldn't be happier. The city believes the park will also improve the neighborhood.

" We have a lot of things for families to do. So the surrounding neighborhood will have a place for kids to go, a place for families to hang out. A lot of baseball and soccer is going to happen out here," said David Schmitz, Bryan Parks and Recreation Director.

Little league baseball action starts at the park on April 19 and Henderson Harbor on May 14.
