A local district judge sets his sights on changing the state commission that issued him a reprimand.

District Judge Rick Davis says he was in Austin Tuesday looking for legislative support to a bill he's drafted to overhaul some of the policies of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Davis says all 181 state senators and representatives have received a copy of the draft. Democratic representative Joe Deshotel of the Golden Triangle area has already expressed interest in sponsoring the legislation.

The Judge says his experience before the Commission three years ago opened his eyes to some of the panel's policies that he calls "travesties." Davis was reprimanded by the commission after a run-in he had with a local prosecutor.
