There's new trouble for Bryan-born country music star Doug Supernaw. The 44-year-old singer who calls Austin County home is in the Brazos County jail charged with evading arrest and public Intoxication.
Around 2 AM Sunday morning, an off-duty police officer spotted a man walking along an apartment complex near Northgate. The officer says the man was intoxicated and belligerent, cursing at people as he walked. Police say Supernaw fled from the officer and was apprehended a quarter-of-a-mile away. He remains jailed on a $2,500 bond and a $400 fine for the intoxication citation.
Supernaw has had a string of run-ins with the law. Last year, he was charged with two counts of failure to appear in a Washington County court stemming from an incident at a Brenham club where he was arrested for assaulting a police officer.
