Easterwood Airport gets the go ahead to purchase equipment needed to offer regional jet service to both Houston and Dallas.
The College Station city council granted Thursday the remaining $50,000 needed to purchase the equipment. On Tuesday, Bryan approved the same amount to go toward the project.
Easterwood administrators are in negotiation with American Eagle to offer a daily jet flight out of College Station starting February 1st. But, the airline won't without the needed equipment.
Continental has offered jet service at Easterwood since last month.
