Officials in Iraq now say they've found 41 corpses in two different parts of the country.
They say 26 bodies were found in a field near the Syrian border.
Police say they were discovered late yesterday and that each had
been shot many times.
They say all were wearing civilian clothing and one of the victims was a woman.
The country's defense minister says 15 other bodies were also found yesterday south of Baghdad.
He says they all had been decapitated. He says some of the dead
are thought to be Iraqi soldiers who were kidnapped in the area two
weeks ago.
The victims are also said to include women and children.
