Grimes County May Have the Key to a Brighter Financial Future

Grimes County hopes a shorter year will be a shortcut to a brighter financial future.

County commissioners voted to move the end of the fiscal year back from December to September 30th. County Auditor Buck LaQuey had suggested the change saying it could pump up to $700,000 into the county's bank account.

Last year the county over spent by almost $440,000.
