A man who works in the Atlanta courthouse where shooting broke out Friday morning says officers told him the gunman grabbed a sergeant's gun.
The county employee works on a floor below where the judge, a court reporter and a deputy were shot. He says officers told him a sheriff's sergeant was escorting the prisoner into Judge Rowland Barnes' courtroom, when the suspect grabbed the gun.
Officials say the judge, a court reporter and a deputy died. A police official says another deputy was grazed and is being treated at a hospital.
A spokeswoman for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says a reporter was beaten and carjacked by the fleeing suspect at a parking garage. She says the reporter is in good condition at a nearby hospital.
Police are hunting for a green Honda Accord taken from the reporter. Highway signs are flashing a description of the car.
