Senator Cornyn Urges the Brazos Valley to Vote

Senator John Cornyn was in town Thursday prepping for the Texas primaries in March.

Cornyn, who is running for reelection to the U.S. Senate, met with fellow politicians in the Brazos Valley.

He said they are working on getting Brazos Valley citizens to head to the polls.

"We're going to have people running literally from the White House to the courthouse here in Brazos County, so we're here to talk about how we can get ready for that, and make sure we encourage people to register to vote and get out in vote," Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, said.

Cornyn was first elected to the Senate in 2002. He said he is running again because of some unresolved issues.

"We've got important issues like immigration and border security and healthcare reform," Cornyn said. "How do we control the federal spending? I know it causes a lot of heartburn to folks here in Texas, including me. These are issues that remain to be addressed."
