Texas A&M University President Robert M. Gates will conduct a news conference at noon Thursday to make public the results of an internal investigation that he initiated following the July 31 explosion and fire in the University Apartments and to present his formal response to those findings.

Two people died and two were injured in the July 31st blast.
Dr. Gates asked the group to look at communication problems that may have led to the explosion.

The news conference will be held at the Community Center in the University Apartments complex.

President Gates has indicated he will respond to media questions for 10-15 minutes after making his statement and then respond to questions from students and members of their families who reside in the complex.
