A Brazos County jury has found a former Brazos Valley band director guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a child.
William Watson, 28, travelled to College Station to carry on a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student he first met when the two were in Iola.
The band director was teaching near Nacogdoches when he was arrested.
The jury began deliberating Wednesday afternoon and came back with a verdict Thursday afternoon.
The punishment phase of the trial will begin at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
Watson could face up to 20 years in prison for each charge.
