A familiar face could be temporarily returning to his old position at Huntsville City Hall.
During a short meeting Wednesday evening, city council members voted unanimously to hire Gene Pipes as interim city manager.
Pipes is familiar with the job having served as Huntsville city manager from 1981 to 2000.
Before accepting the post, Pipes says he, his current employer Sam Houston State University Museum and the city must come to an agreement on his workload.
If Pipes agrees to be the interim city manager, he will take over for Kevin Evans who accepted a city manager position in Arizona in December.
