It was an emotional day Thursday at A&M Consolidated High School, as faculty learned Principal Ron Fox is stepping down.
The high school's staff was informed that he would be leaving at the end of the spring semester.
Fox has been with the College Station Independent Student Department for 12 years.
Of those 12 years, nine have been at Consol. He has served the last four years as principal at the school.
Fox says he is leaving to spend more time with his young family.
"I have four young kids at home," Fox said. "The biggest thing that made me start thinking about this decision in the fall is just this desire to be more available and be a better dad for those four."
Fox's last day on the job is June 30.
