Garage Sale fanatics, before you go bargain hunting you might want to hear this. Bryan's year old Geographic Information System may help you find your next treasure.
G.I.S., a public map service, plots out all garage sales around Bryan. Once a garage sale permit is purchased, the information is entered into the G.I.S. database and the event is put on the map. It's quick and easy to use.
"You can click on each garage sale and down at the bottom it will tell you which day it is, if friday, saturday, two days. It's the information that we put in when we put in the permit," said Bryan G.I.S. Coordinator, Gus Roman.
In a few weeks, the city will also start plotting emergency calls on the map every 24 hours.
