Local Tsunami Relief

A local organization is collecting money and items for tsunami relief that will go straight to the victims.

Operation Give is asking for school supplies and health supplies be dropped off at the College Station Institute of Religion at 100 Dexter.

Or if you would like to give a cash donation, First American Bank has an account set up for Operation Give Tsunami Relief Fund.

The account number is 9770882685 and should be made out to Operation Give Tsunami Relief Fund.

The deadline is Thursday, Feb. 3.

Items needed for children's kits are: Teddy bears, coloring books, crayons, flip flops or shoes, tee shirts, hand towels, combs, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and band aids.

Items needed for health kits are: towels, wash cloths, combs, nail files or fingernail clippers, bath soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and bandages.

School supplies needed are: School bags for teachers, writing tablets, pens and pencils, math and reading exercise books for lower grades, wall clocks and calculators.
