Bryan High Students Left in the Dark

An early morning power outage left some Bryan High School students in the dark.

Students were evacuated from the school while Bryan Texas Utilities crews worked to restore power to about 750 people in the Briarcrest, and 29th street area.

Officials say Wal-Mart, Lowe's, and The Eagle were among the businesses affected.

BTU officials say the cause of the outage was a squirrel that got between a conductor and the ground.

Power was fully restored and students were allowed back in to the classroom within about 30 minutes.
