Father, Son Arrested, Stolen Farm Equipment in Tow

A father-son duo that may have been going into business for themselves landed behind bars.

Sunday morning, Washington County authorities found Ronnie Allen, 52, and Matthew Allen, 29, pulling farm equipment down Highway 105. A check showed those pieces had been stolen from a Brenham business.

The pair from Anderson were arrested and charged with theft, but a search of their property in Anderson found even more stolen farm equipment from a Brazos County business where they were working, including low-board trailers and power tools.

Some $100,000 of equipment was discovered, according to Washington County authorities.

Authorities say the Allens had designs on starting their own business with the stolen eqiupment.

Washington and Grimes County authorities teamed up to uncover a father-son duo supposedly behind multiple thefts of farm equipment.

It was Sunday morning that authorities pulled over trucks pulling a twin rake and a round baler.
A check on the equipment showed they had been stolen from a Brenham business.

52-year-old Ronnie Allen and 29-year-old Matthew Allen were arrested.
Authorities then searched the Anderson duo's property, where they say found even more stolen equipment from a Brazos County business
The pair faces felony theft charges, and authorities say the duo had planned on starting their own business with the equipment.
