Severe Weather Sweeps Through The Brazos Valley

An evening of tornado warnings and severe weather moving through the Brazos Valley has caused damage and interrupted some local events.

Severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Grimes County until 8:15 p.m.

Texas A&M has issued the following Code Maroon message: Tornado warning extended until 7:30 p.m. for southern Brazos County including College Station. Seek shelter immediately.

Damage:

-Reports of trees downed and possible damage to homes near Snook, near County Roads 272 and 279. There have also been reports of hail damage in this same area as well as power outages.

-Downed power lines reported just east of the Brazos River near FM 60 in Brazos County.

Friday afternoon and evening, tornado warnings were issued in Washington, Grimes, Waller and Brazos County.

There have also been reports of flash flooding around the area.

Streets across Bryan and College Station have flooded. Boats have been used by the fire department to help rescue people from their home in several locations in Bryan.
