A former Brazos County Juvenile boot camp teacher is now a convicted sex offender.
William Brooks, 76, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession or promotion of child pornography.
In March 2003, authorities say Brooks took inappropriate pictures of a juvenile student while he was teaching at the boot camp.
District Judge Steve Smith sentenced Brooks to five years probation.
Included as conditions of his probation, Brooks was ordered to spend three months confined to his home with an electronic monitoring device, be placed on the sex offender caseload of the Brazos County Community Supervision Department, complete the maximum amount of community service and pay restitution for any counseling for the victim.
Brooks will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life
