Brazos Valley clergy are preparing their messages for the normally extra-large attendance on Easter services.
And many are trying to figure out how to retain those numbers every Sunday?
From steeple to steeple, altar to altar...no matter what denomination, it is the cross that remains constant at Easter.
"It's the cornerstone of our faith," says Central Baptist Church Pastor Chris Osborne.
Traditionally Easter Sunday brings record numbers into churches everywhere.
And Priests, Preachers and Pastors know they may see fresh faces in the crowd.
"Coming to church is something they include in celebration of the holidays," says First United Methodist Church Pastor Conrell Lockett.
Pastor Lockett is stretching one service into two this Sunday because he's expecting double or triple the usual attendance.
So his message is a little different, to reach those who may otherwise not go to church.
"The sermon preparation don't change. I still do the prayer and fasting to see what God wants me to say but I also keep in mind there may be some non-believers so I try to make the message as clear as possible so they can experience the power of God," says Pastor Lockett.
St. Joseph Catholic Church is holding seven masses on Easter and says it's their chance to extend the invitation year round.
"That is the message: when they're ready, we're ready," says Ricky Alderete of St. Joseph's.
Just filling the seats for churches is not the point, they're hoping people will leave with the true message of Easter.
"The issue for us is we want people in the seats to know who Jesus Christ is personally," says Pastor Osborne.
