A FLOOD WATCH has been issued for the following counties: Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Trinity, Waller, Walker & Washington counties through Thursday night. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH has been issued for Lee, Milam, Robertson & Leon counties through Thursday night. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible through Thursday night. Some areas may even see totals of 5 to 7 inches of localized rainfall.
Two area residents are selected by Gov. Perry to serve on State Boards.
Beverly Jean Nutall, of Bryan was reappointed to the Board of Nurse Examiners. Her term will expire Jan. 31, 2011. Nutall is a licensed vocational nurse and assistant supervisor with the University Pediatrics Association. She has previously served on the State Board of Nurse Examiners appointed by former Governor George Bush. Governor Perry then reappointed her. Nutall served as a member of the Blinn Junior College Advisory Board. She is a volunteer nurse at Scotty's House Advocacy Center and an advisory editor of LPN Magazine.
Robert Brown, College Station, is appointed to the Texas Environmental Education Partnership Fund Board. Brown's term will expire Feb. 1, 2007. Brown is the Head of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and Director of the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources at Texas A&M University. Since 1977, he's been a member of the Wildlife Society. Prior to coming to Texas A&M Brown served as Head of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at Mississippi State University.
Both appointments still need senate confirmation.
