Fresh off joining the Singing Cadets in an honorary capacity, Former President Bush took time out to help honor A&M's finest.

Mr. Bush joined faculty and staff of the university to hand out honors at the annual All-University Awards Ceremony. The event was a part of Parents Week, which wrapped up Sunday.

The president told the families that taking interest in your child's life is a lifelong event, even for the most powerful family in the country.

"To all the students here, let me assure you of one thing: your parents, particularly your mothers, will never stop worrying about you and fussing over you, even if you become president of the United States of America," Bush said.

At the same event, the newest Aggie Parents of the Year were honored. David and Kathy Howard of Klein are the parents of three Aggies, and are constantly helping out with events on campus.

Kathy owns a screen printing business, and when the football team had the idea for the Red, White and Blue Out game following 9/11, the Howards collected 18,000 shirts, stopped all production, and printed them for that game.
