Brazos Valley Forms Special Needs Registry

By: Lindsay Liepman
Video will be available shortly

The Brazos Valley is setting up a new system to help residents with disabilities during a disaster.

The Special Needs Registry would include the seven county area that makes up the Brazos Valley.

Each county is trying to get residents who may be homebound or have special needs to register their information.

The service will contact them during a severe storm or other emergency to see if they need any help.

It is the first service of it's kind in the state, and emergency management workers hope it will better serve special needs residents.

If you or someone you know has a disability call your county government or 211 to register.
